Hi Valenmakesart,

here to give you some feedback regarding your lesson 1 homework. Ready for it? ;)

Lines

Good start: great accuracy at the beginning of your lines while there's just a little amount of fraying towards the end. I’m confident that you will decrease that even further throughout the course!

Ellipses

A few of your ellipses in planes look wobbly. I’m guessing that you were trying your best to fit them into the planes.

Keep working on your ghosting method and count on your confidence :) they will automatically fit at one point due to your unconscious planning.

Funnels

Your funnels could have started more narrow, allowing you to add more variations of ellipses while increasing their angle.

Additionally, a few of them were not cut in half by the minor axis, watch out for that over the course of the next lessons.

Plotted perspective

Enjoyed your work here. Great accuracy and clean look. A recommendation for the future would be to use line weight to highlight how the boxes are positioned among each other.

Rough perspective

Again: Great how they converge into the same direction. Looks like your ghosting is already paying off.

Rotated box

Great result. You missed a bit of hatching on the far left ;) but don’t bother. Cool that your accomplished adding those boxes at the far end of the rotation.

Organic perspective

Not much to add than: well done. A bit of line weight could be helpful, but this is more a nice-to-have.

In summary, you showed great progress - keep that up with your next lessons!

Don’t forget to spend some time on the 50% rule - https://drawabox.com/lesson/0/2/50percent

Happy to share that you shall move one to the next step in the course: The 250 Box Challenge

Have fun!

Sakura Pigma Microns

Sakura Pigma Microns

A lot of my students use these. The last time I used them was when I was in high school, and at the time I felt that they dried out pretty quickly, though I may have simply been mishandling them. As with all pens, make sure you're capping them when they're not in use, and try not to apply too much pressure. You really only need to be touching the page, not mashing your pen into it.

In terms of line weight, the sizes are pretty weird. 08 corresponds to 0.5mm, which is what I recommend for the drawabox lessons, whereas 05 corresponds to 0.45mm, which is pretty close and can also be used.
